Lucky Me

Today is my 4th wedding anniversary. So, I want to take a brief break from my regular programming and acknowledge that I am a very lucky girl. As my grandmother once observed, Jon is smart and handsome and on top of that he gamely indulges all my gardening whims.

He has become pro at removing grass, building raised beds, and identifying aphids. Once, last summer, he even followed me out into the garden at three in the morning to help secure a squash trellis that was endanger of toppling over during a windstorm. Seriously, that takes dedication. Luckily for me, he accepts payment in the form of butternut squash tacos made with squash grown on the still standing trellis!

Great – Happy anniversary! I too have managed to find a man who is bent on making all of my dreams come true. It’s been just wonderful since we met and now this Halloween will be 13 years together! Time to celebrate. Hey thanks for the squash taco idea – wow that’s good one!!! I made note of it and am thinking of trying that with pumpkin – I have lots of little pie pumpkins to fool around with right now. I really like your blog. Have a happy day, Bonnie

Yay! Happy anniversary! Jon is indeed super wonderful…only fitting since you are also super wonderful. Enjoy your pizza and a movie! Do you have any genre you stick to for anniversary movies the way you go with Bill Murray for birthdays?

Happy anniversary, it is always wonderful to have a man motivated by your same dreams (I’ve been with my raised-bed-building hubby for a bit over four years now too!)

So many p-patches and so many positive experiences… Lately when asked, as we said goodbye to our “tentant farmer gig” on Bainbridge- Did you do all this? His reply- No, she did….There will be another garden in our future- I hope- But only one man…Happy Annniversary and many more.

Wow! Happy anniversary Willi and Jon! We’re starting to think you guys are our West Coast doppelgangers, lol. We share October 1st as our anniversary as well! This year was our third. Where did you go for your honeymoon? P.S. We drive by Terrain at Styers all the time, we’ll have to stop in there sometime soon and check it out. I’m just afraid I’ll want to spend too much money, hehe!

I heard about your blog from my friend Deborah I. I love it!

Congrats on your anniversary! A lucky girl indeed to have found such a sweet, supportive partner. My boyfriend loves to garden and cook just as much as I do and we have a blast trying new things. I’ve been volunteering with Seattle Tilth to get my hands in the dirt since I don’t have a garden (condo living). It has been wonderful.

I’ll be back to read more about your adventures!

Jamie–Welcome to DigginFood. I’m so happy to hear you volunteer for Seattle Tilth. I served on their Board of Directors for 6 years. It is a fabulous organization!

That is fantastic! I am hoping to go to the Tilth cider press in a few weeks. It should be a treat. I’ll have to try those squash tacos!
